Solar-Shades Skylight covers are not a film covering for your skylight: In fact, skylights cannot be filmed or tinted. Why? First, many skylights are domed plastic, and the curvature prohibits film from adhering to the surface. But most importantly, heat from the roof dries out the film and causes it to crack in a short period of time.
Thus, Solar-Shades Skylight covers are neither a film or a tint. They are created from a vinyl coated fiberglass and vinyl coated polyster yarn. Neither materials will stretch, corrode or support combustion.
